A busy commercial hub in the historic heart of Brookline. One roof had to serve storefronts and professional offices at once, and clear the district's guidelines without reading as new.
Starting conditions
Coolidge Plaza sits at the center of Coolidge Corner, a neighborhood with an active commercial scene and its own preservation standards. Any roofing plan had to satisfy both at the same time.
The tenant mix ran from retail shops to professional offices, so a single off-the-shelf assembly would not do - loads, penetrations, and access all varied across one building.

Lead the design/build
Crown ran the design/build team and developed the roofing system plans in-house, so the assembly was tailored to this building rather than specified around it.

We worked through the architects, engineers, and city planners to hold the plan inside local building codes and historic society guidelines.

Sequence around tenants
Work moved across the roof in sections so retail and office tenants kept trading, instead of closing the building down for a single campaign.
